ICON is a growing construction consulting firm that acts as an owner's representative overseeing the development of professional stadiums and arenas worldwide. Many team members work remotely at satellite offices or at construction sites. With their growth came the discovery that traditional stand alone email services (POP 3) were not serving the needs of the professional staff and the executive team. The previous system exposed the firm to the possible loss of critical data and individual data storage limitations made it hard to work with large construction drawings and picture files.
Workplace2go recommended Hosted Exchange server as a platform that would allow greater collaboration among team members and offer huge amounts of data storage. Bringing Exchange in-house was not an attractive option for Melissa Heiter, Director of Marketing and Communications and part-time IT Director at ICON.
